Behavioral factors influence your Google rankings.
Google has thousands of engineers constantly tweaking the system so that websites move up the rankings — because humans want it that way. In other words, Google wants website rankings to be influenced by consumers who search for stuff.
…enter behavioral factors.
Google took over Pay-Per-Click from Yahoo years ago by making a tweak to the way it worked. If your ad is clicked on a higher percentage of the time than a competitor’s, your cost-per-click goes down accordingly. Google rewards you for providing the consumer what they want.
This means better targeting costs you less, as does better copywriting that entices searchers to click your ad.
Experts say Google is doing the same thing with organic search engine rankings. If your website and Google page shows on the search results after a given search, Google tracks the percentage of the time that someone clicks on your website. This is called Click-Through-Rate or CTR.
Your CTR is a signal to Google that searchers want to click on your website versus the others on the search results page. Google rewards you with better rankings due to a higher CTR.
So how do you get a higher CTR?
Nothing makes your website andGoogle page stand out on the search results page and shout “CLICK ON ME!” more than your online reviews and the stars/star rating. Look at the screenshot below to determine which dealership is going to get the most clicks:
